Oscars

Reading about the Oscar's on blogs makes me feel like the US has become some sort of alien planet. I have no idea whats so ever what they are talking about. But, I am glad that I did not waste any time watching it. What passes for important discourse among my fellow Americans is truly both bizarre and trivial.

"Argo" is a piece of propaganda that rewrites the rescue of a handful of Americans in Tehran so that it appears as thought the CIA did all the work, when in fact it was the Canadians who were in charge of the operation. So you're definitely not missing much there. I've heard "Lincoln" is OK, but "Anna Karenina" couldn't possibly do justice to Tolstoy's double novel.
